That's about it on the official side, but superstar analyst Michael Pachter seems to have dropped more juicy details on Assassins 2, which he says has changed time frame from 1191 to "several hundred years in the future", specifically, "sometime in the 1700s."

Pachter went on to speculate that the French Revolution could be a potential setting for the sequel, which is infinitely more compelling to us than just more Jerusalem.

You may also remember that the Prince of Persia team let slip that Altair will be swimming in the next game.

What'll be interesting though is how Ubisoft manages Altair in the 1700s (if that is indeed where the sequel's taking place). Are we going to get a new assassin? A different descendent with the same name and clothes, ala Zelda? It'd be a shot in the foot for the company to waste the character it's spent so long establishing.

even if thats true this looks to be worth the wait

reminds me a bit of the fable series, going from medi-evil in one game to victorian in the next.

still this looks to be ace, but this does bring up a question i had with AC1

Will be out anytime in their fiscal 2010 calender which starts on April 1, 2009 (confusing i know but thats the way they work it).

I would imagine so as it shouldnt take as long to develop as they already have a base engine to use.

I never reply to these these things but I just had to reply to this one... LOL! Thank you redmoonshadow... why CAN'T Altair swim?!!?!!?!! That's hilarious! The Sea part with all the boats almost drove me insain cause all the crazy peasants kept pushing me in the water... HaHaHa. Thank for the laugh and the question that I know was on all of our minds. He can kill like a mother "" but cant swim?! I think not.

Well he shall be able to in the next one so wont have to worry.

Happened with a lot of games in the past unfortunately. They are super skilled killing machines but drown in anything deeper than a puddle.

A lot of people don't know how to swim. Especially I imagine among those living in the 12th century in an area mostly made up of very dry land. It's not like he could have take lessons at the local YMCA

Maybe it was incongruous with Alaire's memory so it caused him to dissociate from the memory AKA die.

Coming from a different perspective the where just throwing in more plat-forming elements for added game play

lol, that would make a good sequel, Assassin's Creed 2, Altiar visits the YMCA And the biggest twist is, one of the instructors is a templar!!!

I think they should use euphoria. It was in gta 4 and star wars the force unleashed and the people react and interact with the environment really well.
