i have just got and installed the game. i patched to 1.02 and when i start up the game the Ubisoft logo, warning disclaimer, etc appears, (they go past really fast), but the intro just fades to black. i can hear the sound but there is no video! is there some issue that i'm not aware of?

i have latest nVidia drivers (190.62), for Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

specs are in sig.

edit: i googled it and apparently the intro won't load if running the dx10.exe but does if running the dx9.exe. strange that but oh well, least it works. note i have the retail, non-Steam version.

I know what you're talking about, don't listen to these guys.

I'm guessing you're running DX10...I have the same issue.

If you want to watch the opening cinematic, just launch the AssassinsCreed_Dx9.exe file from your install directory

By default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assassins creed

But I'm sure you've already seen it anyways, as I believe it's available here on GS.

Yeah id heard about this and the patch was meant to disable DirectX 10 so it ran from DirectX 9 and seems that didnt happen for you.
